Amul Eyes US Expansion with Diverse Dairy Product Range

MUMBAI: Amul, marketed by the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, is preparing for a significant expansion in the US market. Following the launch of fresh milk in collaboration with the Michigan Milk Producers Association, the federation is now looking to introduce a variety of other dairy products.

‘Fresh products have a good demand in the US and other overseas markets,’ stated Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of GCMMFL. Plans to include products such as dahi, lassi, buttermilk, cream, and paneer in their US offerings have been set in motion.

Addressing the 116th Annual General Meeting of Indian Merchants’ Chamber, Mehta emphasized India’s growing prominence in the global dairy industry, predicting the nation to account for one-third of global milk output within the next decade. Amul is also eyeing expansions into Canada and other international markets.
